Colonel Shelley R. Campbell serves as the Chief of the Joint Staff at the Wyoming National Guard Joint Force Headquarters and the Director of Staff for the Wyoming Air National Guard. In this position she shares the responsibility for planning, training and execution of National Guard joint military program operations throughout the state to include Defense Support to Civilian Authorities.

Colonel Campbell began her military career in 1980 when she enlisted in the United States Air Force. After completion of basic training and technical training, she was assigned as an Air Traffic Controller at Tyndall Air Force Base, Fla. She served there on active duty until her separation in 1984.

Colonel Campbell has deployed three times in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom; first for six months to Pakistan in 2001, later to Afghanistan in 2003 for three months and finally to Iraq in 2006 for another three months.
