Randall K. Wilkison selected for AFA Chief Master Sergeant Dick Red Award Published May 24, 2011 Wyo. Military Department CHEYENNE, Wyo. -- Chief Master Sgt. Randall K. Wilkison, of Laramie, Wyo., a member of the Wyoming Air National Guard's 153rd Maintenance Group, was selected for the AFA Chief Master Sergeant Dick Red Award. Chief Master Sgt. Dick Red was the first enlisted airman to win the Legion of Merit in 1944, for building a camera mount in the nose section of a P-38 Lightning fighter, and the award honors his memory. The winner is selected from among the Air National Guard's 88 wings and named the top aircraft maintainer, said Chief Master Sgt. Doug Hensala, state command chief of the Wyoming Air National Guard. Some of the notable contributions Wilkison has made are: - Provides dynamic leadership, direction to 326 active duty/Air National Guard maintenance personnel in the first ever C-130 Total Force unit. - Directs the scheduling and execution of maintenance flow plans, generation and recovery of 12 C-130H3 aircraft, valued at $443 million. - Advanced 153rd Maintenance Group's first flight line tool room and provided manpower and guidance decreasing check in and checkout time by 67 percent. - Led aircraft generation for, saving $2.5 billion of property.
