Wyo. Military Department to host JFRC dedication ceremony

The new Joint Forces Readiness Center for the Wyoming Military Department, located at 5800 Central Ave., on F.E. Warren Air Force Base, will be open to the public during an official dedication ceremony scheduled for Dec. 16, from 2 - 4 p.m.

The facility will be the new headquarters for the Wyoming Military Department and its various components, such as the Wyoming Army National Guard directorates, the Wyoming Air National Guard headquarters, Wyoming National Guard Joint Staff, the U.S. Property and Fiscal Office, and will also house the agency's military records division. The building also is home to the adjutant general, the Wyoming Veterans Commission, and various state functions.

Construction of the facility began on Aug. 10, 2008, and was built with Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) funds. The state-of-the-art facility is more than 140,800 square feet with a final price tag of $40 million, and will provide space for approximately 480 personnel.

The dedication ceremony will begin at 2 p.m., and will include remarks by Wyoming National Guard command staff - to be followed by an open house of the facility. The Joint Forces Readiness Center is located next to F.E. Warren Air Force Base Gate 5 and is accessed prior to entering the base.
