November is the month of Military Family Appreciation Published Nov. 30, 2010 Wyo. Military Department CHEYENNE, Wyo. -- November has been designated as Military Family Appreciation Month. There are family members and loved ones who share in America's service member's sacrifices and provide unending support. During Military Family Appreciation Month, the Department of Defense is celebrating the exceptional contributions of military families, and reaffirms its commitment to these selfless individuals. "As I have shared with you in past messages recognizing the Month of the Military Family, I am so grateful for the sacrifices that you, our military families, have made and continue to make in support of our men and women in uniform," said Maj. Gen. Ed Wright, Wyoming's adjutant general. "During my tenure as Wyoming's adjutant general, we have been a nation at war. And although we have modernized missions, equipment, and infra-structure in a significant way, I am most proud of our service members and their families for completing, in an extraordinary way, the work that America has called us to do. I am also very aware of the impact that continued deployments have on our families." Military families endure the challenges of multiple deployments; spend holidays and life milestones apart; and juggle everyday tasks while a spouse, parent, son, or daughter is in harm's way.
