Operation Iraqi Freedom
BALAD AIR BASE, Iraq -- A view of Wyoming as the Air Force's first active associate unit trains in a C-130 Hercules. The unit was activated July 1, 2006 at the Cheyenne Air National Guard Base and is due to deploy here in October to support Operation Iraqi Freedom. The unit was set up to embody the idea of the total force concept and places active-duty Airmen with a Guard unit to share aircraft, supplies and infastructure. (U.S. Air Force photo/Lt. Col. Steven Hopkins)
