Lt. Col. Daniel R. Perala, of Cheyenne, assumed command of the Wyoming Air National Guard's 153rd Medical Group during a ceremony Sept. 10 at the Wyoming Air National Guard base.

Perala took command from Col. Jeffrey R. Storey. Storey co-founded Cheyenne Women's Clinic in 2004, where he is currently employed.

"I'm looking forward to the challenges ahead," said Perala, adding that the medical group personnel will make the transition easy. He previously served as vice commander for more than five years and has been a member of the Wyoming Air National Guard for 19 years.

Perala lives in Cheyenne where he has a private optometry practice.
